Prince Charles must agree to abdicate in seven years when he turns 75, to make way for his son Prince William
A new report alleges Prince Charles can only reign as King for seven years before handing over the throne to Prince William, but the story is entirely false. Gossip Cop can correct this bogus claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
According to the National Enquirer, Queen Elizabeth is “stepping down” from the throne, and her “shocking decision” reportedly came with a “non-negotiable” command. The alleged “marching order” is that Prince Charles “must agree to abdicate in seven years when he turns 75, to make way for his balding son Prince William.” A so-called “royal insider” tells the outlet that Prince Charles has been “desperately pleading to become King,” and it looks like “he finally wore” his mother down.
The magazine’s dubious royal “source” goes on to contend, “In recent years, [Queen Elizabeth has] made it clear she wanted William and Kate to reign next,” and while Prince Charles temporarily sits on the throne, Prince William and Middleton can “have more time with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.” But coming from the same publication that once claimed Tom Cruise was trying to dethrone Queen Elizabeth, Gossip Cop is not remotely surprised by the Enquirer’s latest fabrication.
Firstly, Queen Elizabeth is not planning to announce her official retirement from the throne. Furthermore, there is no “marching order” in place preventing Prince Charles from reigning for more than seven years to ensure his first born son can be crowned King in 2024. Regardless, Gossip Cop investigated, and an actual palace insider assures us the supermarket tabloid’s claim is simply “not true.” It’s all lies.
Unfortunately, as noted above, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has corrected the untrustworthy outlet for manufacturing bogus and frankly ridiculous stories about the royal family. In June, for instance, we debunked the magazine June for falsely alleging Prince William and Middleton refused to allow Princess Charlotte to have a “baby beauty bash.” Of course, that wasn’t true, and the same goes for this latest made-up royal succession report.
