Prince William and Duchess Kate have arrived in Belgium to mark the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele.
The royal couple are accompanying Will’s father Prince Charles, who is on a two-day visit to Belgium for the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele.
The family, who are on the tour on the request of Queen Elizabeth, will attend various events to mark the First World War commemorations.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s parents attended the Last Post ceremony, on Sunday evening.
The royal couple met with the Belgian King Philippe and Queen Mathilde as well as British Prime Minister Theresa May.
William, 35, gave a short speech before laying a wreath with the King.
“Members of our families; our regiments; our nations; all sacrificed everything for the lives we live today,” William said.
“During the First World War Britain and Belgium stood shoulder to shoulder. One hundred years on, we still stand together, gathering as so many do every night, in remembrance of that sacrifice.”
At the ceremony, which has taken place every night since 1928, the royals were joined by 200 descendants whose ancestors are named on the Menin Gate, as well as representatives from nations who fought on the Salient.
Royal fans were delighted to see that Catherine, 35, wore her white Alexander McQueen outfit, which we first fell in love with during Princess Charlotte‘s christening in 2015.
She paired the coat-dress with a stunning hat which sat atop her low bun. The outfit was completed with a pair of grey heels and matching purse.
With the young kids back at home in the UK, William and Kate had a jam-packed evening.
The duo dropped by the market square in Ypres.
The region shared their story of war through incredible projections and live performances.
Tomorrow, they’ll join Prince Charles for another commemoration service at the Tyne Cot Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.
